Mr. Catanach began directing theater in 1991 for the American Family Theater in Philadelphia PA. He continued directing as the Workshop Director for TADA!, in NYC, It wasn't until Mr. Catanach was approached by Henry Street Settlement Abrons Arts Center to direct for their theater program, that he recognized the need to create original works that were based within the stories of the people he was directing. The original works he developed lead to Mr. Catanach being invited to head up a new theater company as the founding project coordinator of the Urban Youth Theater, which has successfully existed since 1995.

Now developing projects for DLex Productions, Mr. Catanach continues to work with original material that deals with the current tempers of society. He is constantly searching for the unheard voices in theater today.
